Bill was struck by a 500-pound beam that hit his head and back, causing him to fall underneath it. Upon impact, he thought "This is it" and experienced everything in slow motion as he fell. Suddenly he was somewhere else feeling great, watching all events of his life pass before him, including many forgotten memories. He suddenly knew all the questions and answers about life's mysteries, understanding everything clearly. He saw all his deceased family members standing in a semi-circle waving and welcoming him, but they were beyond a point where he could reach them. He realized it wasn't his time to stay. He returned to his body lying on his stomach with the huge weight on his neck. The experience was wonderful and eliminated his fear of death completely. He felt that place was really home. Even 50 years later, the experience remains crystal clear in his memory. He knew God was letting him experience this glimpse of the afterlife, confirming his Christian belief in life after death.
