Bethany experienced clinical death during gallbladder surgery when anesthesia complications occurred. The anesthesiologist said "plan b" and "She is going in too deep" which she heard even though he was behind her. She entered a black tunnel like going down a drain, which was initially scary. Then a nuclear explosion-like bright light appeared on the horizon and engulfed her 360 degrees. The operating room sounds faded, ending with the heart monitor beeping. In complete silence and brightness, she began moving forward calling "Jesus" repeatedly, transitioning from fear to peace. Her three children's faces flashed before her eyes in rapid succession. She then crashed back onto the operating table with deafening voices and machinery. The physician's assistant said "She still has a good grip on my hand" which she heard before waking in recovery. She could see and hear people in the operating room even though that wasn't physically possible. The experience confirmed her Christian faith and belief in an afterlife. Operating room staff later confirmed the accuracy of her observations.
