Sharon was shot twice by her stalker ex-boyfriend with a sawed-off shotgun after months of escalating harassment. The first blast shattered her left arm, nearly severing it. The second shot was fired directly into her back, blowing out her right lung. As she was dying from blood loss and inability to breathe, she knew she was going to die within seconds. She surrendered to death, saying in her mind "I'm ready to die, Lord."
Immediately upon surrendering, Sharon was engulfed by an amazing golden, pulsating, loving light in a 10-foot diameter circle around her. She described it as the most wonderful feeling ever experienced - pure unconditional love multiplied by 1000 or more, leaving her in complete rapture. She could have stayed with that light forever. The feeling was indescribable with words, far beyond any earthly experience of love or joy. While immersed in the light, Sharon heard a voice in her gut repeatedly telling her to "Roll over and play dead or he's going to shoot you till you're dead." After hearing this instruction three or four times, she pulled her attention from the light and followed the voice's guidance. She rolled onto her back, let her arm flop out, groaned, and held her breath as if dead. The shooter fired a third shot that missed her, then shot himself and died on her outstretched arm. This action saved her life, as he had another shell ready but thought she was already dead. Sharon was given only a 30% chance of survival after 6 hours of surgery. She spent 6 weeks hospitalized with multiple surgeries. The experience left her knowing she would be okay despite her critical condition. She wrote a book about the experience titled "Stalked and Shot: A True Story of Survival and Change." The voice and the instruction to play dead directly saved her life from certain death.
