Sophia experienced an NDE in 2014 during a drug overdose that resulted in clinical death. She was in a car with her boyfriend when she began feeling intensely cold, like a corpse, despite the heat running at full power in -30°C weather. She then separated from her body and watched from outside the car as her boyfriend worried about her condition.
She was quickly pulled upward by a bright, warm light and found herself walking in a foggy place with unfamiliar people. Through the fog, her deceased relatives began to appear, including her mother who had passed away years earlier. She spent what felt like almost all day walking and talking with them, though time had no meaning in that realm. Her mother told her about future events in her life including details about her children and career. The relatives inhabited their own world that was light, airy, weightless, and completely free from evil or pain. Her mother revealed specific information about what would happen in Sophia's future and then told her it wasn't her time and she had to return. Despite desperately wanting to stay with her relatives in that peaceful realm, she was pulled back. Her relatives disappeared into the fog and darkness began pulling her downward in an unpleasant experience she likened to being born again. Upon returning to her body, she found her vision had improved and she could see things with different colors and contrast than in normal life. She gained the ability to see through people and read minds. The experience convinced her that an afterlife definitely exists where God's presence can be felt.
