At age 9, Peter had bronchial asthma and was rushed to hospital with his mother. After receiving a penicillin injection, he had an allergic reaction. He found himself up in a corner of the ceiling in the treatment room, watching his mother, nurse, and doctor urgently moving around his body slumped in a chair. He could see everything from different viewpoints within the room, mostly from above, and watched the urgency of the medical staff and his mother's loving concern. He could see from multiple perspectives and watched as a doctor rushed in and injected him with what he later learned was adrenaline. As soon as he saw the injection in his thigh, he was back in his body with his breathing restored. His mother later verified everything he saw and felt during the experience. The lighting seemed to glow brighter than normal during the OBE, and he felt a peaceful loving warmth throughout. He felt strong compassion for everyone in the room. The experience made him more loving, especially toward his mother, and more spiritual and open to beliefs than his brothers.
