In 1947, when Carolle was six years old, she was in the Pacific Ocean with her aunt who was pushing her on an inner tube. When the aunt turned to head back to shore, a wave picked up the tube and dumped Carolle to the bottom. Her aunt kept reaching but couldn't find her. While sitting on the ocean bottom, Carolle's short life started going before her eyes - birthday parties, Christmas, mostly good memories with no bad memories recalled. When her aunt finally found and touched her, the memories stopped. She was pulled up by her hair with her aunt crying. During the experience, Carolle had an out-of-body perspective, seeing herself from above and slightly behind, watching the crown of her head and her hair floating around. She remained very alert and conscious throughout. As the chronological life review was ending, a tunnel appeared with a very bright, warm, and inviting light inside. The tunnel came into view just as her aunt reached her, so she saw it but didn't enter. She heard a roaring sound which she thought might have been the ocean. The experience left her feeling she suddenly understood everything about the universe.
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience includes classic NDE elements found in scripture - separation from the body (2 Corinthians 12:2-4), a life review focusing on positive memories, and a tunnel with bright, inviting light that could represent the transition to the afterlife. The out-of-body perspective aligns with biblical accounts of spiritual experiences. Unbiblical elements: None identified. This is a brief childhood NDE that contains only standard elements without any theological claims or unbiblical concepts.
