Carolyn was hospitalized with severe eclampsia, toxemia poisoning, hemorrhaging and edema that caused temporary blindness during childbirth. She drifted off and lost consciousness, finding herself in a tunnel with an unbelievably bright white light. Everything in the light was beautiful and colorful beyond description. She experienced the most profound feelings of peace, calmness, love and tranquility - sensations stronger than anything she had felt before or since. Despite loving her life and family, she repeatedly begged to stay in that peaceful state and not return. She heard a strong, commanding voice telling her she could not stay and had to go back. The transition back was quick and she awoke in the hospital. Doctors had been trying to save both her and her unborn child who was six weeks early. Both survived, and her son is now 54 years old. The experience left her with absolute certainty that there is a better place after physical death.
