Caroline experienced life-threatening anaphylactic shock and was rushed to the hospital's resuscitation unit. During the emergency treatment, she had an out-of-body experience where she floated horizontally above her body, observing the medical staff from above. Despite facing the ceiling, she could see everything happening below - multiple staff inserting IV lines, performing CPR, and shouting orders. She saw everything in an unusually bright white light and felt incredible peace, happiness, and calm that exceeded anything she had experienced before. She felt no pain from the procedures being performed on her body. She could hear and see multiple conversations simultaneously with extraordinary clarity, observing different doctors and staff members all at once. When her physical body was stabilized, she dropped back into it. Eight hours later she went into anaphylactic shock again but had no experience that time.
