At age 2.5, Serena fell in shallow water while her father was distracted. Her father felt someone poke his shoulder hard, turned and found her floating face-down with arms and legs spread. She was not breathing and her heart had stopped. During this time, she experienced a beautiful yellow light that was extremely bright yet dim, peaceful and foggy. Her visual field was restricted but filled with this light. She saw her deceased grandfather whom she had never met in life - his face was huge, filling her entire vision. He was smiling brightly with loving eyes. Though no words were spoken, she felt completely at home, peaceful and loved. Time stood still. Upon revival, she immediately ran to her mother exclaiming she had seen her father. Her mother was shocked as Serena had never seen pictures of him before. The family believes the grandfather saved her by alerting the father.
