MVC had two near-death experiences stemming from severe childhood trauma and untreated mental illness. At seventeen, she cut a main artery attempting suicide, watching blood spurt to the ceiling before sinking into darkness. She observed the scene from above as a nurse found her and she was rushed through hospital halls, floating like a balloon above the stretcher. A warm golden light drew her upward, and she realized the girl on the stretcher was herself. Excited about experiencing death and wanting to tell everyone that death isn't final, she panicked about where the light would take her. She zoomed into the doctor's ear screaming for help, and after what felt like an eternity, chose to return for unfinished work.
Years later, after becoming pregnant with twins from a fellow patient, she overdosed on heroin and cocaine. Paramedics attempted resuscitation after cardiac arrest. This time she was sucked downward at great speed into a dark void filled with angry, unfortunate souls who wanted to keep her there. Each time her heart was shocked, she returned to her body, but when resuscitation paused, she was back in the dark void. She kept thinking "Please don't stop resuscitating me" as she moved through the mass of mean souls. This hellish experience convinced her that souls go to places they've earned through their earthly actions. The first experience showed her life after death exists and filled her with compassion for humanity's ignorance about death's true nature. She saw beautiful vibrant roses, colors that don't exist on earth, and white buildings like those from ancient Greece floating in the sky. Time had stopped, and she felt in control until choosing to return. The second experience was entirely different - a dark void with unfortunate souls trying to trap her there, making her realize personal responsibility for life choices. After the hellish experience, MVC completely transformed her life. She immediately quit all medications, drugs, tobacco, self-mutilation, and left psychiatry. She studied healthcare, married happily for sixteen years with a man who adopted her twins, had three more children, and dedicated herself to helping others. She learned that all we take with us is what we give to others.
