Ben, 18, was walking between classes when he felt faint, sat on a bench, and experienced cardiac arrest from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Despite being unconscious for over 3 minutes without pulse or breathing, he saw EMS placing defibrillator pads on his chest. He found himself in a pitch white room with the quietest quiet and most peaceful feeling, matching peace felt at age 4 when comforted by an angel. He heard the best music ever through perfect speakers and saw rapper Kid Cudi with him. Looking in a large mirror, both looked incredibly good. His entire 18-year life played out in the mirror, making him proud of everything he'd done - the BEST feeling. When Kid Cudi asked 'Are you ready?' Ben said yes, thinking he was going to heaven, but returned to the cold, bright school floor. He wished he could have stayed in that peaceful white place, believing it was heaven's waiting room and God gave him the experience so he wouldn't fear dying. Ben died 17 days later but not before secretly creating a YouTube video about his NDE titled 'This is my story' that went viral worldwide, helping many people with death and suffering. After his NDE, he intentionally spent time with specific friends, prayed for his family to have his peace, was no longer afraid of dying, and felt ready for 'something more important' - possibly his YouTube testimony that continues touching lives.
