At age 3, Damon drowned in Onkaparinga River during family swimming. No memory of entering water or other side, but vivid recall of return. Found himself underwater with sandy water swirling, but mind of 30-year-old. Voice from behind head said "Hold your breath, everything will be fine, you'll be out in a minute." Voice was smooth, certain, all-knowing like Morgan Freeman. Had complete trust, felt calm, knew would be saved. Next memory was OBE on shore - father kneeling, toddler body crying with sand coming from eyes, ears, nose. As 30-year-old consciousness, stared at toddler 4 inches away, amazed at copious sand, annoyed at family's panic. Father later confirmed bumped his leg underwater, drove head into sand to secure grip. No medical treatment needed. Also had second OBE weeks later eating raw onion, controlling taste to be apple, ridiculing 7-year-old brother's ignorance. Had STE same period with black hooded figure touching spine. Experiences left lifetime effects: feeling disconnected from society, understanding others but alienated, high IQ test results, inability to maintain jobs, seeing world as "plastic dream." Now 50 years later still dominated by experience, wanting voice back, frustrated being stuck between worlds.
