Following this encounter, Kathleen observed herself from outside her body, viewing her pale form lying unconscious in the hospital bed. She appeared to be positioned to the right and slightly above her physical body. Two medical staff in white coats stood at the foot of her bed discussing her condition. One wore a hat and carried a clipboard, while the other had black hair and glasses. The man with glasses stated they needed to contact family, while the other noted there was no family information in her chart. Despite attempting to communicate that she would be fine, she could not make them hear her. Upon regaining consciousness, Kathleen was transformed with an entirely different attitude toward life. The experience gave her courage to move beyond religious dogma and fear-based beliefs, beginning a lifelong journey of spiritual exploration and personal growth.
