Benny experienced Ventricular Fibrillation Sudden Death and was clinically dead three times over July 16-17, 2004. He was registered as dead upon arrival at the hospital on the first occasion. During each death, he instantly found himself on the "other side," encountering a universal face that embodied all faces ever created, both male and female. This being asked him "What have you done?" triggering an intense life review focused not on what he had done, but on what he had failed to do - including turning away a hungry cat and other moral failings from his younger life. He experienced a profound cosmic consciousness where universal knowledge poured into his mind "with the volume and pressure of a fire hose," understanding that the Great Spirit exists in everything from rocks to solar wind to microbes. Upon return, his teammate successfully resuscitated him in a training class. He retained profound peace, lost all fear of death, and believes we should not mourn the dead but remember them with joy.
