Jacqui was in the hospital to deliver her baby, ten days overdue with signs of pre-eclampsia. After giving birth, she developed eclampsia (abnormal after delivery) with terrible chest pains and seizures. Multiple doctors and nurses worked on her while she was in terrific pain. Suddenly, she became aware of a tunnel and started floating toward it. She saw a beautiful light and was being beckoned by someone or something. She knew instinctively she was dying and told the nurse "I'm going to the light." The nurse panicked and kept shouting "Stay with me! Don't go to the light!" Jacqui felt rational and knew she had a choice between staying for her newborn baby or going into the tunnel of light. The light and love were even more intense than a mother's love for her newborn. She reached the tunnel entrance and wanted to go but felt she still had a job to nurture her baby. After being in an induced coma in ICU for five days, the nurse visited and said they thought they'd lost her, noting that most people who talk about going into the light die. Jacqui remembered everything. The experience released her from fear of dying and led her to become a nurse to help others.
