Jack was scheduled for tonsil and adenoid removal surgery. After being given pre-operative medication and anesthesia, he went under. During surgery, he died on the operating table. Jack found himself sitting up and observing the white wall tiles bordered with black tile and a clock with a sweeping second hand. He hopped off the bed from the right side, walked around the foot of the bed, and saw nurses and doctors huddled around the bed. He walked out through the door, turned right into the waiting area where he saw his mother looking worried and his father reading a magazine with a green lamp on the end table between them. He heard his mother say "Something is wrong" and "Something's wrong with Jack. I am going to see what's going on." His father closed the magazine and placed it on the table. Jack followed his mother as she walked to the nurse's desk on the left. He continued walking down another hallway until everything went black. He woke up in recovery. About a year later, his mother told him he had died on the table and to be careful with anesthesia in the future. When Jack told his mother what he had observed, she confirmed all the details were accurate.
