Holly, after separating from her husband and experiencing depression and a painful undiagnosed illness, took a fatal overdose of medication. She was found clinically dead - cold and not breathing - and was resuscitated with CPR. During her death, she was pulled from her body slowly and entered a cold, heavy darkness where she drifted for an unknown time. She felt calm but restless, sensing this wasn't where she belonged. Then a flood of light enveloped her and she was pulled up into a bright field with vivid green grass and blue sky. The colors were ethereally bright and she experienced pure love, complete acceptance, and contentment. She felt this was home and wanted to stay but was told it wasn't her time and was sent back. She descended back to her body and overheard what happened when she was found dead and resuscitated. Upon return, she felt a profound sense of loss. It took days to fully adjust to being back. Remarkably, the unknown illness she had suffered from for six years completely disappeared after the NDE, with no organ damage despite the large overdose. She now has no fear of death and experiences lasting peace, though still has some depression from witnessing worldly suffering.
