Bridget experienced a severe auto accident in May 1990 after undergoing an abortion months prior, carrying tremendous guilt and remorse. A large vehicle struck her small car, causing her face to slam into the steering wheel hard enough to bend it in half. Her sunglasses embedded into her upper brow, causing profuse bleeding. After exiting the car, she took two steps before collapsing backward onto the street from shock.
She found herself in an open space without walls or doors, experiencing utter contentment and peacefulness in bright, vibrant light. God appeared before her holding her aborted child as a perfect infant wrapped in a soft, silky blanket. God spoke to her saying "Everything is good. He is perfect and I forgive you. Do not feel guilty. You are forgiven and I love you." She was able to touch and hold the baby, feeling complete peace and forgiveness. She wanted to stay with her child but God told her the baby would be fine in His care, and she had to return because she had a purpose. She kissed the baby goodbye and handed him back to God. From above, she observed her body lying in the street surrounded by police vehicles, ambulances, and many people. Someone was holding her head, others were praying, and her favorite Guess overalls were drenched in blood. She could see the entire blocked intersection and people walking up from the beach a block away. The scene made her wonder how much time had passed since she fell. She smelled a strong scent held under her nose and returned to her body feeling heavy and drugged. Upon returning, she felt like someone turned the volume from mute to high. Medical personnel were discussing her vitals, and she was asked orientation questions. She had swallowed so much blood they considered pumping her stomach. The experience completely relieved her guilt about the abortion and brought her lasting peace about God's forgiveness and love.
