BaRaMi was crossing a reservoir with a friend without bathing suits, having miscalculated the width as 150-200 meters when it was actually 500 meters. While swimming, their trousers fell down and they developed a cramp. After throwing the trousers to their friend, BaRaMi sank into dark, stuffy water. They surfaced and sank three times, each time experiencing darkness and struggling for breath. On the third submersion, BaRaMi felt languid and feeble but then saw a bright light. Suddenly calm with no panic or breathlessness, they felt very good with complete peace in body and mind. Time seemed extended underwater, and though they wanted to stay in that peaceful state, they eventually headed upward when feeling slightly stuffy. A boat rescued them after they surfaced again. The experience left them changed, no longer grasping at activities beyond their abilities.
