Rene K had lymph node cancer and suffered a sinus thrombosis during chemotherapy in 1993, leading to stroke, coma, and seizures. While in extreme pain with 106°F fever, hearing loud prayer-like voices in an unknown language that he somehow understood deeply, he desperately wanted to die. He left his body easily, feeling infinite relief with no pain or fever. From outside his body, he watched his parents and a nurse beside his hospital bed. He was then pulled through the ceiling to a beautiful park-like setting in late summer - birds chirping, flowers everywhere, old trees with rustling leaves, and pleasant sunshine. An elderly man in a dark hooded cloak welcomed him with loving eyes and caring words. Despite the infinite peace, Rene felt he didn't belong there. The man showed him a movie of his future: giving medical lectures, discovering new medicine approaches, facing and winning a court case against pharmaceutical companies, and dying peacefully of old age. Realizing these events needed to happen, Rene asked to return but said he had no strength left. After asking for help, he returned to his body in a warm, fluffy state and slowly recovered from his coma. The experience led him to develop psychic abilities including seeing auras, clairvoyance, and enhanced empathy.
