In August 1985, Aissaoui drowned while swimming in the sea in southern France. Her four-year-old niece pulled her head from the water by her hair after she lost consciousness. From a pedestal-like vantage point above, she watched her body floating and observed multiple scenes simultaneously in different locations. She could hear everyone's thoughts and interior dialogue without surprise. She witnessed firemen attempting resuscitation with electric shocks (defibrillation) and her helicopter transport to Montpellier hospital. Throughout, she felt attracted by a magnetizing light that drew her closer, bringing increasing feelings of peace, love, wellbeing and fullness - the most total wellbeing she had ever experienced. After seeing her body on a hospital bed connected to machines, she observed her sister and husband in the corridor in shock. She attended their conversation from within the room. Upon awakening, she felt disappointed and frustrated to return. Her family later confirmed the events matched exactly what she had witnessed, though she kept the experience private.

--- Biblical Summary ---
Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience and observation from above align with biblical accounts of spiritual sight. The brilliant, attracting light resonates strongly with biblical descriptions of divine light and God's presence. The overwhelming feelings of peace, love and wellbeing match descriptions of being in God's presence. The ability to perceive multiple locations simultaneously and hear thoughts reflects spiritual omnipresence. The reluctance to return to earthly life echoes Paul's tension between departing to be with Christ and remaining in the flesh (Philippians 1:23).

Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience focuses on the transitional state and divine light without making claims that contradict biblical teaching.
