Andrew had a severe throat injury when a bottle cap fired off like a shotgun, tearing his throat open. He was unconscious for two weeks. During this time, he found himself outside his body, somewhere behind and above his hospital bed, surrounded by a warm brightness. He saw his family crying around his body but couldn't communicate with them. A calm, loving male voice told him "It is not your time yet. You're not ready." He could visualize the scene clearly even 36 years later. His mother confirmed he was unconscious the entire time, yet he accurately described seeing them crying at his bedside. The experience strengthened his faith in God and the afterlife.
