Volley experienced two clinical deaths from heart attacks. First NDE: During cardiac arrest, he found himself in an ambulance, then standing before a massive Roman-temple-like building with tall pillars and a giant doorway arch. His deceased uncle stood beside him and walked with him through the coliseum-like interior. Halfway through, he heard his grandfather's voice saying "This is not your time" and awoke in the hospital after being dead for 14 minutes. Second NDE (10 years later): He awoke in a beautiful rolling field by a large pond with a waterfall that made no splash or ripples. The pillar building was visible on a hilltop. His uncle greeted him again, showing him the pond where they would fish, with Volley standing an inch above water seeing large fish below. He was led across the field toward a tree-lined area where he found a two-story house with porch attached to a green dually truck. Knowing his deceased father would answer the door, he knocked, but his grandfather's voice intervened saying "HE IS NOT DONE YET. HE HAS TO GO BACK." His grandfather grabbed his arm and pulled him up. He awoke with medical staff over him, having been clinically dead for 27 minutes and shocked 13 times, with the doctor about to call time of death when his heart beeped once.
