Sounds seemed muffled and far away despite the shouting and equipment movement. The primary veridical observation was her out-of-body view from the ceiling, watching the frantic emergency room scene while feeling detached and blissful. She could see the entire scene rather than focusing on individual elements. She was diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer and received multiple transfusions. The experience transformed her from atheistic to a lifelong spiritual seeker, though she never aligned with any specific tradition.
