In April 1995, VF experienced a profound NDE following a severe jeep accident where all three occupants were ejected. The experience occurred almost exactly one year after her brother-in-law had died of leukemia in April 1984, following her acts of love and support for his family during their move to Utah. At his funeral, she had spent time with her sister at his open coffin.
During the accident around 11 PM, VF found herself out of body looking down at the flashing lights and emergency response. She saw and heard the driver coughing up blood, watched responders turn the driver's head to prevent drowning in blood, saw blood coming from the driver's ears, and later heard them cut her head open at the hospital while waiting outside the operating room. She also saw her own body lying in the street and felt confused about what to do next. To her left appeared her deceased brother-in-law dressed in white, with another unknown man between them who seemed to maintain order. Communication occurred telepathically without moving lips. Her brother-in-law told her "everything was going to be all right, that I should breathe." This message has recurred throughout her life since. She was pronounced dead and responders began walking away when she suddenly took a very deep, loud breath that alerted them she was alive - following her brother-in-law's instruction to breathe. At the hospital, family members repeatedly asked doctors why she wasn't bleeding despite extensive injuries: a large cut from upper thigh to knee nearly severing her leg and continuing to the other leg, nine head gashes, numerous deep cuts, smashed hand, and face full of glass. A doctor explained "the dead do not bleed." The experience represented her brother-in-law's "payback" for the love shown to his family. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: Encounter with deceased loved one in white robes aligns with biblical accounts of saints in glory. The intermediary figure maintaining order suggests angelic presence. The miraculous lack of bleeding despite severe injuries demonstrates divine intervention. The message of reassurance reflects God's comfort. Return to life through divine command parallels biblical resurrections. Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience maintains biblical orthodoxy with deceased saint appearance, divine protection, and miraculous preservation.
