Karen had been drinking rum all day with her new husband when she consumed too much alcohol and ended up on the floor of her garage, believing she stopped breathing. During this life-threatening event, she suddenly found herself very far away in a swirling tunnel of darkness that felt fitting for her. She observed a bright light far in the distance and turned to see her body lying on the garage floor with her husband crying and repeatedly calling her name. She felt extremely distant from her physical form, remaining stationary in the tunnel rather than floating upward. The experience lasted several minutes before she suddenly returned to her body. Upon returning, she experienced an overwhelming desire to go back to where she had been. The experience left her with no fear of death and the knowledge that the veil between life and death is extremely thin.
