In September 1973, nearly three-year-old Ingrid fell into a 900-gallon cement water reservoir while playing catch with her sister. The tank was five feet deep with frigid water below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. After losing balance trying to grab a yellow ball, she fell in and sank to the bottom. Her body became unresponsive in the shocking cold, and she was submerged for several minutes before her mother, sensing dread, ran home and pulled her lifeless body out. She had no pulse, blue lips, and was clinically dead until her mother performed CPR.
During the experience, Ingrid felt total relief and peace as her body became insubstantial. She saw her own lifeless body suspended in the water from an outside perspective. Beautiful flowers bloomed from nowhere and lifted her away. She found herself observing the maid lounging on her bed listening to radio, then saw her mother walking down the street several blocks away, who suddenly turned and ran back home. She experienced being pure bright light without individual form, communicating with everything as part of the Wholeness. Following the NDE, Ingrid experienced frequent out-of-body experiences and began seeing Beings of Light at age four. These beings appeared as star-like figures in white, silver, and gold, with the golden ones taking human form. They communicated telepathically, telling her she was special and had things to accomplish. She developed numerous psychic abilities including seeing auras, accessing past lives, future visions, and extrasensory perception. The experience gave her permanent awareness that death doesn't exist, we are eternal beings of light, and she had existed before this incarnation. Her subsequent spiritual experiences and abilities profoundly shaped her life path, leading her to become a scientist while maintaining her spiritual awareness.
