Patricia experienced a life-threatening hemorrhage from an ectopic pregnancy in the emergency room. After the tube burst, she was taken to a small treatment room where numerous responders worked to save her. During this medical crisis, she was pronounced dead after losing all vital signs, with the attending doctor stating "She's gone" and calling for someone with signing authority for the death certificate.
During her out-of-body experience, Patricia found herself high up in the rafters looking down at the medical team working on her body. She observed them poking, prodding, and examining her body while she felt no pain. She listened as they declared her dead and watched as they began preparing her body, wiping off some of the blood while waiting for the authorized person to sign the death certificate. She noticed about 15 minutes passed while everyone stood quietly waiting. Then she observed a woman with red hair enter the room, take up the chart, and say "She is too young. Let's try something else." Patricia experienced being in a dark corridor and feeling overwhelming peace, acceptance, and calm. She sensed a presence with her who appeared to be smiling and possibly male. The most remarkable veridical observation was Patricia seeing and identifying the red-haired woman who decided to continue resuscitation efforts. When Patricia later asked about this woman, the medical staff became very anxious and insisted she couldn't have seen her because Patricia was dead at that time. Patricia also accurately observed the layout of the treatment room from above and the specific activities of the medical team. After the red-haired woman's intervention, Patricia remembers nothing except extreme cold. She woke up four days later in the hospital. The experience left her without fear of death and with an absolute acceptance of life circumstances.
