In January 1974 in Northern Ontario, Wayne W experienced an NDE after a violent altercation resulted in severe head trauma. During a scuffle with another young man, he fell and struck his temple on the corner of a metal waste container. On his hands and knees, he watched blood streaming from his skull into a pool on the tiles.
Suddenly, he found himself no longer in the room but outside in a beautiful setting with rolling hills, trees, and birds singing in the sky. He was surrounded by a large circle of beings observing him as he kneeled before them. These beings wore white robes and were hairless (bald), arranged in order with younger-looking ones in front and older ones behind, peering over shoulders. The beings communicated telepathically, and Wayne could hear their thoughts clearly in his mind. The younger ones repeatedly asked the older ones, "Is he ready? Is he Coming? Should we help him?" while the older ones simply responded, "Wait, be patient, wait." After shaking his head, Wayne found himself back in the room, bleeding profusely. His opponent helped him to his feet and took him to be stitched up. This profound event occurred over thirty years ago when Wayne was a self-described "tough guy" who prided himself on walking alone, with no spiritual or religious involvement.
