Francisco experienced multiple near-death episodes during childhood, beginning at age 6 in 1973, due to severe asthma attacks. During his first experience, he suffered extreme suffocation to the point where he couldn't articulate words to ask for help. After anxious moments that seemed eternal, he suddenly became free of all suffering and realized he could breathe, though when he looked down, his body was still lying on the bed making terrible breathing sounds while trying unsuccessfully to get oxygen.
He realized he had become a type of semi-transparent light, free of breathing equipment or body, observing his brother sleeping beside him unaware of what was happening. He could move instantly to any location just by thinking about it. Two balls of light appeared, one speaking in a serious voice asking what he was doing there and warning he should return to his body immediately or he would never be able to do so. He was then carried through a luminous tunnel back to his body, ending the asthma attack. In subsequent experiences, many more beings of light appeared in the room, talking to him with familiarity as if they had known him all his life. They debated whether he should stay or return, with one saying he should stay to stop suffering, while another argued he had much to live through and would be happy. Since these experiences, Francisco has maintained contact with these entities through dreams, receiving guidance at various important life stages. He has also encountered recently deceased people, including a pregnant nurse who told him about her fatal accident and asked him to help save her baby, though he couldn't determine the accident location. Francisco's grandmother, after death, gave him precise instructions to help his ill grandfather, telling him to "go where the pink shark is" - a meaningless phrase until he discovered a pink Citroën (which means shark in French) parked at the entrance to a forest trail that led him safely to his grandfather when other routes were blocked. These ongoing experiences have convinced him that consciousness survives death.
