During a suicide attempt, Chris jumped from a moving car and landed head-first on the ground, resulting in clinical death. Upon entering another state of consciousness, he experienced direct communication with God who told him that He and the angels were real, loved humanity, and that angels were a gift from God. Chris received what he described as the greatest hug he had ever experienced from God. After realizing he had separated from his physical body, Chris found himself in mid-air observing two guardian angels on either side of him, each approximately 8 feet 6 inches tall with wings spanning 5 to 6 feet across.
The angels communicated telepathically with Chris about the number of people he needed to help on Earth and directed him to look down at his body being attended to by paramedics. This out-of-body observation of emergency responders working on his physical form, complete with ambulance and police car lights, provided veridical confirmation of the scene below. The angels expressed happiness that Chris chose to return to Earth to complete his assigned work. God's final message before Chris returned was to tell everyone that God loves them, emphasizing divine long-suffering and willingness to go to the ends of the earth for human salvation. The primary veridical observation involved seeing his body from above with paramedics attending to him, observing the emergency vehicle lights and first responders at the scene. Chris clearly viewed this from an elevated perspective while separated from his physical body. The detailed description of the angels' appearance and their communication about his earthly mission provided additional observational elements. Following the experience, Chris underwent significant life changes including the development of spiritual gifts such as discernment of spirits, knowledge, wisdom, interpretation, and thought pattern recognition. He lost some friendships but grew closer to the spiritual realm, living each day with purpose to help others as instructed.
