Angela became dizzy while in a hot tub with five other women and got out to reach for her pants. While standing up, she went into what she described as a dream state. Her friends later reported that she was unresponsive, they couldn't feel her pulse, and her eyes remained open the entire time.
During her experience, Angela found herself in the presence of a beautiful woman who made her feel happy. They were moving forward together through a landscape with a solid blue sky and green trees, though she couldn't see the tree trunks. They were moving toward what appeared to be the sun - a beautiful, bright, warm light. Music played in the background like from a speaker, specifically the song "Let's Hear It for the Boys." She and the woman were happy and laughing together. The entire scene felt peaceful and joyful. From behind, Angela heard her best friend Shelly calling her name. She turned and asked the woman, "Why is Shelly looking for me?" The woman turned toward her and smiled. This seemed to trigger her return. She then heard Shelly's voice two more times, each time drawing her back toward her body. Angela woke up wet with throbbing head pain on the floor. The pipe she had apparently hit had broken, explaining her wet state and head injury. Her friends confirmed she had been completely unresponsive with no detectable pulse while her eyes remained open throughout the experience. The woman she encountered during her NDE was later identified as her best friend's aunt, though this connection wasn't immediately apparent.
