Tina was helping her husband with locksmithing when a defective Ruger .357 revolver fell and fired, shooting her in the abdomen. The bullet damaged her liver, passed her heart, and went through her lung with no exit wound. She was airlifted to a medical center with blood pressure at 50/0 upon landing.
During emergency surgery, she was given only a paralyzing drug without proper anesthesia. She was conscious and felt the surgeon cutting from her sternum down her torso, rating the pain as 15 on a scale of 1-10. She felt the surgeon lifting her intestines looking for damage and sewing around her right lung. She mentally screamed and pleaded for God to take her due to the excruciating pain. She then became aware of a light to her left and no longer felt her body. Her Native American grandmother (died 1978) and great-grandmother (never met) stood at the entrance to the light. Through telepathy, they told her it wasn't her time and she had more to do. She was completely immersed in incredible love, contentment, acceptance, and feeling of being home. Her heart stopped three times requiring cardiac massage. When she returned, her internist asked her to squeeze his hand. The surgeon was horrified she was awake during surgery. Her memories were compared with the surgical recording and confirmed to be accurate. She never fears death now, knowing it's only passing to join loved ones and the Creator. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: Encounter with deceased relatives in light, divine love and acceptance, being sent back with purpose, and understanding death as transition to be with the Creator align with biblical concepts. The overwhelming peace and feeling of being "home" reflect biblical descriptions of heaven. Native American spiritual elements can coexist with Christian faith. Unbiblical elements: Post-NDE development of abilities to help trapped spirits cross over and sense energy anomalies suggests mediumship, which is warned against in scripture. While the core experience is biblical, these paranormal abilities are problematic from an orthodox perspective.
