Amy experienced a severe asthma attack that didn't respond to breathing treatments. When the ambulance arrived, her oxygen levels were critically low at 23%. In the ambulance, she was strapped down and struggling to breathe. The technician told her to relax. After one more gasp, she laid back and stopped breathing completely, experiencing first respiratory arrest, then full cardiac arrest. She was air-flighted to another hospital.
During her cardiac arrest, Amy found herself in a vanilla-pink colored, misty tunnel that was slowly swirling around her. She could hear the prayers of many people - some she knew like her youngest son, many she didn't know. These prayers appeared as silver audio play-button files that she could reach out and touch to hear individually, while also hearing them collectively. The experience filled her with an overwhelming feeling of love and caring. After passing through the tunnel, she entered a wooden-paneled waiting room with a small two-foot square window through which an indescribably bright white light was shining. Three bright-light spirits resembling the brightest starlight accompanied her in the waiting room. They appeared as four-pointed stars of brilliant white light that didn't hurt her eyes. She understood she wasn't staying and would be returned, with the three spirits keeping her company until then. She felt extreme calm and wanted to go with the spirits into the light. She could verify specific prayers that people had said during her unconsciousness. Amy awoke about twelve hours later in an icy hospital bed with a tube in her throat and bandaged hands. When she returned to consciousness, she was able to recount specific prayers that had been said for her. Her family confirmed that prayer requests had gone out over the Internet, radio, and phone lines, with many strangers praying for her. She drew pictures of the star-like spirits immediately upon awakening.
