Adrian experienced two NDEs. The first occurred at age 13 when he attempted suicide by hanging in 1965. During this experience, he felt himself floating out of his body in darkness. He heard a beautiful, loving voice calling his name. The voice showed him a vision of his own funeral with his parents and deceased grandmother mourning. When asked if this was what he wanted, he chose to return.
His second NDE occurred in May 1982 when he was shot during a confrontation. After emergency surgery, he found himself walking in a beautiful landscape with a river to his left and desert to his right. He saw an incredible forest across the river and wanted to cross. A voice warned him not to drink from or enter the river. He eventually encountered a group of people listening to someone speaking. When the speaker turned around, Adrian recognized him as the source of the voice from both experiences. The being told him it wasn't his time, that his son wasn't born yet, and there were many things to do. Both experiences featured the same loving voice/being guiding him. In the first, he saw his deceased grandmother at his funeral vision. In the second, he experienced heightened consciousness and could differentiate individual leaves on trees half a mile away. The being explained how to return to his body slowly to minimize pain. After these experiences, Adrian developed psychic abilities including prophetic dreams that often came true, including deaths of family members. He changed from atheist to believer, attending both Catholic and Baptist churches. The experiences gave him peace and eliminated his fear of death.
