In August 1976, recently divorced, Violette had left her four-year-old daughter with her parents and was driving to visit a friend. While making a left turn at the town entrance, she was struck by a white car she hadn't seen coming down a sharp descent. The impact spun her car 180 degrees into a wall. Without a seatbelt, she collided with the steering wheel hitting her stomach and chin. When a Red Cross doctor arrived and checked her with a stethoscope, she heard him say "She's done, I don't feel anything."
During her clinical death, Violette saw herself and the people around her while already "gone." She experienced floating and entering a lighted tunnel, feeling no weight and being irresistibly drawn forward. A voice told her "No we cannot keep you. You have to experience terrible and painful moments. You have to get back down. We can't do anything for you." Despite her protests and desire to stay, she was sent back with powerful impact between her eyes at the third eye chakra point. She then heard the doctor say "She's coming back" and felt all her fractures and pain. The experience left her certain of life after death. She was told she had experienced difficult times as predicted by the voice. Following the NDE, Violette developed psychic abilities including premonitory dreams and the ability to perceive hidden things, diseases, deaths, and future joy or success. She later had a visitation from her deceased father who appeared to comfort her about her life choices.
