Nine-year-old Jonathan was riding his bike down a hill when he hit a mulch pile at full speed, launching himself much higher than expected. His jaw hit the pavement in slow motion, and he lost consciousness. He found himself in an unearthly realm filled with brilliant yellow light and many beings frantically flying about. The beings were making loud singing or chorus-like sounds and seemed urgently busy with something important, not focused on him. He felt stuck and unable to move, desperately trying to communicate telepathically that he needed help getting back to his body. After some time, one being (seeming female) came to help raise him up.
He experienced seeing gaseous nebulae-like formations in intense yellow colors, with beings moving as points of light. They appeared to be helping humanity or working on something of great importance with urgency but without fear. When the being helped him, he was raised back up rather than put into his body. Upon returning to consciousness, he was on the pavement surrounded by concerned friends. He had chipped his front teeth which later died and required extensive dental work. The experience left him confused rather than transformed initially, but years later he recognized it as a near-death experience.
