Jolie had just ended an abusive relationship and was deeply depressed. Feeling hopeless and ashamed, she impulsively decided to end her life by taking a bottle of mood stabilizer pills while driving. She veered off the road and called her father in panic. Everything went black, and she realized she was dead but felt completely calm. Through the darkness appeared a brilliant light that filled her with hope and joy. She believed it was God comforting her, letting her know she wasn't alone and it wasn't her time to die. She awakened in an ambulance, learning that two men had found her unconscious by the roadside and saved her life. The doctor said she was lucky to wake up given the amount of pills she had taken. She now devotes her life to God, believing He gave her a second chance.
