Tracy, severely depressed, attempted suicide by drug overdose after saying the Lord's Prayer. He experienced complete blackness that gradually filled with bright white light from the edges. Initially silent, he then heard someone calling his name, growing louder. The light expanded and he could make out three figures with arms stretched out as if to embrace him, floating closer. They had no faces, hands, or feet. He reached out but never made contact before waking in the emergency room, where paramedics and doctors had performed CPR on him twice that day. The experience seemed to be happening at normal speed with time having no meaning. The darkness followed by light appeared tunnel-like with rounded edges at the top that grew larger. He felt calm then confused once realizing it wasn't normal, but remained at peace throughout. Growing up Southern Baptist but having become atheist, the experience made him more open-minded about the afterlife though he still questions religion. His uncle had previously mentioned having an NDE with similar elements. The experience left him knowing it definitely happened, taking things more seriously, unable to relate to people who aren't real and compassionate, and thinking about it daily while keeping quiet due to fear of ridicule.
