Tommy was operating a machine in a factory when the handheld control short-circuited and he became the ground for the electricity. Upon being electrocuted, he saw liquid-like colors filling the entire room, similar to being underwater. Everything faded to darkness, then he experienced forward motion toward a point of light that grew bigger, brighter and warmer. The light emanated love, belonging and peace.
He exited a tunnel into a grassy field with rolling hills, oak trees and flowering bushes. Following a sandy path that led over a hill, he saw a small white wooden bridge crossing a crystal-clear creek. As he approached the bridge, he saw his grandfather (who died in 1966) dressed in brilliant white walking toward him. When Tommy stepped onto the bridge to meet him, he hit an invisible barrier. His grandfather communicated telepathically that Tommy couldn't come yet, that they weren't ready for him, and he had to go back to care for his family. His grandfather would be waiting when Tommy's time came. Tommy was pulled rapidly backward through the tunnel. Everything became cold when the light went out. He found himself on the emergency room table with faces looking down at him, feeling profound disappointment. CPR had not been started for five minutes after the electrocution. The vividness of the colors, the crystal clarity of the water, and the entire landscape left him unable to fully describe the experience. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The tunnel with light, encounter with a deceased relative, beautiful otherworldly landscape, and being sent back with a purpose are consistent with many biblical and Christian NDE accounts. The barrier preventing crossing represents a point of no return. The peaceful, beautiful realm with perfect nature could represent paradise or heaven. Unbiblical elements: None identified.
