Tom was repairing a broken furnace in freezing weather when toxic fumes from a gas stove and an electric heater that melted an extension cord filled the house with smoke. Tom felt incredible peace and wanted to stay but thought of his wife and children. Upon deciding they would be fine without him, he suddenly found himself outside in the snow wearing only jeans.
Tom discovered the front door half-open with smoke rolling out. The electric heater had melted the extension cord and set fire to the carpet and floor.
