Robert was hospitalized with Legionnaires Disease and his condition rapidly deteriorated. Unable to breathe, he was placed on a ventilator and slipped into a coma. His wife fought to have him transferred to another hospital. During his coma, Robert found himself standing in a beautiful meadow with tall grass and calming sunlight. His deceased paternal grandparents emerged from a stand of trees, holding hands and looking as he remembered them from childhood. They communicated telepathically that it was not his time and he could not come with them. They walked backwards into the trees and disappeared. Robert woke briefly as nurses worked on his ventilator, then woke again at the second hospital where he had been airlifted while in a coma. After his recovery, a blood technician told him privately that God sometimes takes people down to prove His love and give them a second chance. Robert experienced profound life changes, including instant release from cigarette and alcohol addictions with no withdrawal symptoms.
