Dr. Rick, a neuroscientist specializing in brain trauma, had a heart attack and died five times within 60 minutes on July 1, 2015. He experienced brain anoxia and was in a coma for four days, placed under a cool thermal blanket to preserve brain neurons. Each time he was shocked back to life corresponded with a distinct visit to heaven.
During his experiences, Rick found himself climbing a beautiful green grassy hill under a brilliant golden blue sky that opened onto an ancient Bethlehem-like village extending as far as the eye could see. The village contained hundreds to thousands of people engaged in various activities: teaching, caring for animals and children, preaching, cleaning, and other common jobs. He encountered his grandfather who had been deceased since 1987 and sensed the presence of Jesus as a bright light in the left side of the valley. Rick experienced incredible peacefulness and profound reluctance to leave. Each of the five times he died, he felt a beautiful and gentle hand on his forehead pushing him gently down the lush grassy hill away from the glorious valley of heaven. He wanted to stay because he never felt such complete love and total acceptance on earth. His wife confirmed he was shocked back five times, validating his five distinct heavenly experiences. As a neuroscientist with brain anoxia, Rick retired to write a book about his NDE and devote his life to helping veterans with post-traumatic head injuries. The experience confirmed his Christian faith and eliminated his fear of death. He loves his family deeply but would give it all up to live in God's presence.
