Craig experienced a sudden heart attack and was flat-lined in the emergency room. He left his body and floated above it, observing the fruitless efforts of medical staff trying to revive him. As his earthly senses disappeared, he saw images of deceased people and passed through a parabolic wormhole in space, emerging into vast darkness with many points of light representing individual entities. Each point of light was an individual consciousness with no connection to their human life. A brighter light appeared in the distance, and when drawn to it, images of his family appeared, presenting him with a choice. He was suddenly transported back into his body as they revived him. He underwent coronary artery catheterization with two stents placed for a complete blockage of his right coronary artery. Upon awakening in ICU, he had no memories of his past human life and took three years to begin understanding he was in a human body again. The experience fundamentally changed his perspective on existence.
