Becky experienced a near-death event during liver resection surgery in April 2013 for a parasitic infection. She died on the operating table and heard the doctor speaking before losing consciousness. During her NDE, she was met by her deceased grandmother, who appeared young, healthy, and walking despite having died at 92 with both legs amputated. They conversed for what seemed like hours, with her grandmother repeatedly urging her to return as it wasn't her time. Becky witnessed a tunnel with bright light at its end but did not fully cross over. The experience was characterized by warmth like a summer day, complete absence of pain, and profound peace. She felt such contentment that she did not want to return to life. After the experience, she awakened three days later on life support with multiple IVs including one in her neck. The medical emergency involved bleeding out and crashing on the operating table, requiring CPR for resuscitation. Since this event, Becky reports having had 23 surgeries since 2006, indicating ongoing serious health challenges. The experience gave her a glimpse of what she describes as Heaven and eliminated her fear of death. She also reports developing empathic abilities afterward, including visions of her sister and uncle passing over.
