Marisa had two experiences while in the military. The first occurred in Texas when she was alone and possibly sleeping. She found herself standing in the night sky surrounded by stars when one star enlarged and brightened. A male voice told her she would give birth to a son named Timothy James, raise him alone, and live a long healthy life with him. She was told not to be afraid and that her son would be her angel. Shortly after, she discovered she was pregnant. The second experience happened during childbirth in Washington. She suddenly stopped hearing the medical staff and felt her body rising toward a translucent bright light. A male voice told her it wasn't her time yet and she had a son to raise. She then woke up to learn she had passed out and needed oxygen. Weeks later, doctors discovered she had pregnancy-related cardiomyopathy and thought she needed a heart transplant. After six weeks of medication, her heart miraculously recovered completely, stunning the doctors. Both experiences brought her feelings of love, peace, and bliss, and significantly changed her spiritual outlook from traditional Catholicism to a more universal spiritual perspective.
