In May 1988, 18-year-old Banu underwent rhinoplasty surgery for a nose broken at age 7. Under general anesthesia in the operating room, she experienced a deep black tunnel with an incredible light at the end. She saw 15-20 shadows of people of varying heights waiting for her at the tunnel's end, appearing to expect her arrival. Her earthly body felt like it was rolling side to side while her consciousness moved toward the light and the waiting figures.
Unable to reach the shadow people, Banu suddenly felt her soul vacuum back into her body. She began regaining consciousness, feeling the doctor's hand pressing on her nose while applying bandages. Banu described the experience as profoundly peaceful and joyful, with no pain, only complete peace in body and soul. She believes the shadow figures were deceased loved ones and relatives waiting to meet her. The experience removed her fear of death and gave her a sense of receiving a second chance at life, making her more mature and devoted to family. She developed enhanced sixth sense abilities and experienced astral travel afterward.
