On May 22, 2013, Anna underwent laparoscopic gallstone removal at a private clinic. During the operation under general anesthesia, she remained totally conscious, hearing medical staff conversations she could repeat today. She experienced prolonged emergence from anesthesia, hearing the physician's bedside comments while unable to respond except through facial expressions. Eight minutes without breathing resulted in clinical death requiring defibrillation.
Anna flew through a black tunnel with elements of hell visible on the walls, resembling paintings of Angel Michael in Rome. She found herself in a roofless glass hall like the Pantheon, observing a dark passage with a table arranged like the Last Supper. Young people aged 30-40 sat at the table dressed in bright colors - green, red, blue, and gold. Her mother, who had died at 88, appeared as a 40-year-old wearing a white dress with red roses instead of the dark blue Anna knew it to be. When a woman approached Anna dreamlike without seeing her, Anna suddenly understood she was dead upon seeing her mother, the light, and the table. She protested, saying she didn't want to be there, mentioning her husband, children, grandchildren, and patients. Her mother rose, took her hand, led her to a corridor and said it wasn't her time yet and she must go back. Anna then observed her own defibrillation from above, initially wondering who the woman on the operating table was before realizing it was herself. Following the experience, Anna's brain underwent neuroplasticity requiring 1.5 years to recover. She experienced overwhelming love for everyone and gained healing abilities and occasional clairvoyance. The experience strengthened her Catholic faith and transformed her life, leading to spiritual growth and career advancement.
