On Women's Day 1996, Maria was drugged at a bar-restaurant, causing cardiac arrest. After just two sips of her drink, she felt something terrible would happen. She collapsed and her friend George held her, but she mysteriously slipped through his strong grip "like a snake" - something he couldn't explain. Her heart stopped and she couldn't breathe. She found herself floating above her body, looking down at it while experiencing magnificent, intelligent light that communicated with her. She felt perfection, bliss, and overwhelming love. When she said she wanted to stay, the Light replied "But it's not your time!" She then felt vibrations and jerked back into her body. Since the experience, she has developed healing abilities, can communicate with other dimensions, see past and future events, and her heart acts as a "telephone" sensing when others think of her. The experience completely eliminated her fear of death.
