In 1995, Margarita was in a severe car accident in Costa Rica where the vehicle flew four meters after impact. She experienced steel-like mandala doors opening before her eyes, which she realized were made of pure energy. She found herself in a place of pure light and information where she felt totally loved and recognized herself as part of this light. She lost visual awareness but could hear everything around her, including a paramedic saying to others about attending to her husband. She felt herself sitting in the light for an extended period. The light dissolved into the atmosphere when she awoke in the clinic. She suffered a broken hipbone and severely injured hand. The experience transformed her understanding of universal connection and led her to ecological work. She describes the light as love and information that unites the whole world.
